Day 4 of 50 DIY Days: Five Thanksgiving Table Ideas for the Kids!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and now that I have two kiddos I want to plan some fun ideas for them (and the other kiddos) to make the “kids table” more exciting.

1) Make these cute turkey napkin rings for your kid’s table. Found on View From The Fridge.

2) Set up a little caramel apple bites station for the kiddos dessert after their tasty meal. Found on Food Network.

3) Skip the boring bowl of fruit salad and create something fun for your kids to eat! Find out how to make this turkey fruit platter on The First Year.

4) Make the kiddo’s table extra special with these fun table decoration ideas! Find them on my blog right here.

5) Annnnnd, since you’re already making a turkey shaped fruit platter, you should probably also make a turkey shaped cheese tray. Found on A Beautiful Mess.

Day 3: Punny Christmas Tree

Day 3 of 50 DIY Days: Punny Christmas Tree

Guys. This might be my weirdest Christmas DIY to date. Ha! And I love it. It’s me in tree form. If you know me personally, then you know that I like to tell terrible jokes. Puns are my favorite and now they are covering this Christmas tree I made for the Michaels Dream Tree Challenge!

If you are as weird as I am and want to completely embarrass your friends and family with some terrible puns this holiday season, I have provided all of these puns for you to use on your very own tree! Highly recommended for this project: A Silhouette cutting machine! There’s just way too much to cut out by hand. I provided all the files for you to use.

Supplies needed to craft this tree:

Silhouette Cameo 3
Black 12 x 12 cardstock paper
Pink 12 x 12 cardstock paper
White Christmas tree (the one I have is online only from Michaels)
String
Hot glue
Colorful Christmas balls (these are shatterproof, because we have a crazy baby)
Tree skirt (mine is from in store at Michaels)
Punny Tree Files (these are for the Silhouette)

*Note for materials: If you have a green tree, just change the paper color from black to white so it will pop on the tree.

Directions:

Step 1) Prep all your supplies. Get the cutting machine ready by loading the black paper into it. Open up your first punny file and cut that paper! Note: You’ll notice that I connected the letters in each word with tiny tabs. This makes it SO much easier to hang up the words on your tree, instead of individual letters. Another note: you can easily adjust the sizes of each word in your Silhouette program before cutting.

If you don’t have a cutting machine and still want to do this project, here’s a list of all the puns:

I’m the star (on the tree star)
Son of a nutcrackers!
Meowy Christmas!
Happy holla days!
Tree puns are sappy.
The Christmas alphabet has noel.
Snow what?
We have chemis-tree.
I be-leaf in yew.
Sleigh my name, sleigh my name.
Brace your elves, Christmas is coming.
You’re tree-mendous!
Believe in your elf.

Step 2) Once you have one pun cut and peeled off the cutting mat, you can cut little one each sections of the string. Use your hot glue gun and the string pieces to connect the words to create your puns.

Step 3) Repeat step 1 and cut out your Christmas tree punny star on the pink paper. Carefully peel it off the cutting mat and place it at the top of your pretty tree.

Step 4) Hang up your colorful Christmas balls evenly around the tree. You won’t need to hang too many up, because your puns will take over most of the tree. Yay!

Step 5) Place your puns around the tree! Since I have a fake tree I was able to adjust the branches and move them to wear I needed the words to hang.

And now you are done! You have probably the silliest tree in town, unless your neighbor has already put together their own punny joke tree. Ha! Click here to keep up with my 50 DIY Days and check out holiday DIYs from the past few years.

Day 2 of 50 DIY Days: Fun DIY Turkey Crafts for the Kids!

It’s day TWO of my 50 DIY Days and I’m excited to share 4 very Fun DIY Turkey Crafts for the Kids! My oldest daughter is going to be 7 in December and she is very into making things right now. I think we will be crafting some turkeys in the next couple of weeks!

1) This little turkey dude is adorable! You can download this turkey for your kids to cut out and decorate their cups on Thanksgiving! Found on Mer Mag.

2) Make these thankful turkey jars with your kids and they can give them to friends and family! This fun craft is from Local Adventurer.

3) Pom poms are always perfect for kid crafting and apparently they are also perfect for making cute little pom pom turkeys! Find out how to make these cute turkeys on She Knows.

Day 1 of 50 DIY Days: My Favorite Wreath DIYs

This baby of mine seems to take most of my time and I haven’t been able to keep up with my shop and my blog, but I’m slowly getting back to it. I love blogging so it’s important to me that I keep up with this.

Anyway, today I’m kicking off my 50 DIY Days (you can check out the past few years right here). I’ll be honest: I probably won’t make it through all 50 days, but I’ll do my best since I love these posts.

Today is Halloween, but I’m ready for Christmas! Anyone else feel the same? Today I’m sharing three of my favorite wreaths that I’ve made in the past.

Kids rooms have a tendency to get messy FAST, so I’m always on the lookout for new decor ideas that are cute and organize the massive amount of toys, art, and other random items. I found 12 Cool Kids Room Decor Ideas that I love and I think you will enjoy.

If you want some pretty new furniture for your home, but you don’t have the budget: no worries! Head to the thrift store, a garage sale, or maybe IKEA and find some furniture that just needs a little love and creativity to turn into the piece you’re looking for. Check out these 12 Creative DIY Furniture Hacks I found below.

1) A plain IKEA dresser can be turned into a fancy little dresser that will brighten up any room! Found on Bliss at Home.
