Okay. You’re at a holiday party and you go to grab your glass and you forgot which drink is yours! This happens at almost EVERY family gathering I go to. Well, not anymore! Today, on the Better Homes and Gardens blog, I’m sharing how you can make your very own DIY Numbered Party Glassware. The best part is these things are dishwasher safe. Yay!
Silhouette Cameo 3 (or cut out the material by hand if you don’t have the machine)
Glassware
Rubbing alcohol
Iron
Numbers for the glassware
Head on over to the Better Homes and Gardens blog to see the full DIY (and get the free silhouette file to make your own).

P.S. Silhouette America sent me the new Cameo 3 machine to craft something for you guys! It’s honestly so much fun. I’m also a paid contributor for the Better Homes and Gardens blog. I use affiliate links in my blog posts.
I’m not really a cocktail drinking kind of girl. 99% of the time I will always choose a glass of wine if I’m drinking. SO, when it comes to the holidays I like to get a little creative with my wine drinks so I can feel like I’m drinking something fancy. Today I’m sharing how I make some Festive Christmas Wine Ice so my fellow wine lovers can also feel like they are having a “cocktail”.
Supplies needed:
pomegranate seeds
one orange
mint leaves
white wine
optional: silicone ball ice cube tray
Directions:
Step 1: Cut up your orange into small little triangles and pick out some small leaves from your mint.
Step 2: Place a small portion of each of these items into the bottom of each little ice tray spot. Fun fact: it seems pomegranate seeds sink, so you’ll probably find them at the bottom of each ice piece.
Step 3: If you have the ball ice tray, I suggest using a tiny funnel for this step. Carefully pour wine into each ice spot. Tap the trap a bit to get any bubbles out and refill more if needed.
Step 4: Place the ice tray in your freezer for at least 6 hours. Overnight is probably best. That’s it! You now have the perfect little ice to keep your white wine chilled for your wine “cocktail”. IF you really like pomegranate, you can sprinkle some extra seeds into your wine “cocktail”. Yum.

Guys. This might be my weirdest Christmas DIY to date. Ha! And I love it. It’s me in tree form. If you know me personally, then you know that I like to tell terrible jokes. Puns are my favorite and now they are covering this Christmas tree I made for the Michaels Dream Tree Challenge!
If you are as weird as I am and want to completely embarrass your friends and family with some terrible puns this holiday season, I have provided all of these puns for you to use on your very own tree! Highly recommended for this project: A Silhouette cutting machine! There’s just way too much to cut out by hand. I provided all the files for you to use.
*Note for materials: If you have a green tree, just change the paper color from black to white so it will pop on the tree.
Directions:
Step 1) Prep all your supplies. Get the cutting machine ready by loading the black paper into it. Open up your first punny file and cut that paper! Note: You’ll notice that I connected the letters in each word with tiny tabs. This makes it SO much easier to hang up the words on your tree, instead of individual letters. Another note: you can easily adjust the sizes of each word in your Silhouette program before cutting.
If you don’t have a cutting machine and still want to do this project, here’s a list of all the puns:
I’m the star (on the tree star)
Son of a nutcrackers!
Meowy Christmas!
Happy holla days!
Tree puns are sappy.
The Christmas alphabet has noel.
Snow what?
We have chemis-tree.
I be-leaf in yew.
Sleigh my name, sleigh my name.
Brace your elves, Christmas is coming.
You’re tree-mendous!
Believe in your elf.
Step 2) Once you have one pun cut and peeled off the cutting mat, you can cut little one each sections of the string. Use your hot glue gun and the string pieces to connect the words to create your puns.
Step 3) Repeat step 1 and cut out your Christmas tree punny star on the pink paper. Carefully peel it off the cutting mat and place it at the top of your pretty tree.
Step 4) Hang up your colorful Christmas balls evenly around the tree. You won’t need to hang too many up, because your puns will take over most of the tree. Yay!
Step 5) Place your puns around the tree! Since I have a fake tree I was able to adjust the branches and move them to wear I needed the words to hang.

I may craft and make things for a living, but that doesn’t stop me from also crafting with my daughter. To be honest: crafting with my daughter is much more enjoyable than a lot of other art projects I work on. When I’m making things with her I try to be less of a perfectionist (I try) and it’s fun to see what she can do. She usually wants me to make my own version of whatever craft we are making, and she will make hers all on her own (with a little help from me here and there).
We recently started watching Creative Galaxy on Amazon Kids. The show is a “make-along, create-along” cartoon and it really inspires my kiddo! Each show highlights a creative craft (painting, music, sculpting, cooking, etc.) and it encourages kids to get excited about their own creative ideas and the process of using creative arts to solve problems. We may have zoomed through the whole first season, but luckily the second season of Creative Galaxy is starting on the 16th!
SO, since my daughter just started first grade (wow, time is flying by) today’s fun kid-project is all about erasers! Did you know you could make your own erasers? I had no idea. I was at the craft store and found this clay eraser kit right next to all the polymer clay. And, guess what? The erasers actually work!
Supplies needed for the erasers:
Eraser clay kit (I found mine at Michaels, but you can also find on Amazon)
Sculpting tools: something metal with a skinny flat side to cut (safe for kids to use), a few toothpicks, tweezers, and anything else you think might help.
Pencils
A straw to make bite marks.
An oven to bake the erasers!
Check out my video to see how we crafted each eraser (click on “full screen” to see the larger video)!
TIP: After we made this video I did realize there might be an easier way to keep the erasers from squishing when you cut them. Pop them in the freezer for about 30 minutes and THEN cut them. Our watermelon got pretty squished during the cutting process, but it’s still fun and cute!
After we made these erasers my daughter felt confident to make her own set and she surprised me with them. How cute are they? She added sprinkles to her doughnut and she made a pickle guy all by herself. Ha!
The whole project costs were under $10 and we made a lot of erasers with that clay! If you need some more kid crafting inspiration I suggest you really do check out the Creative Galaxy show on Amazon Kids. A lot of kids shows drive me nuts, but this one is a-okay in my book. Check out the trailer for season 2 to see what fun you might find while watching.

P.S. This is a sponsored post from Amazon Kids. I was paid to share this fun kid craft with you! Creative Galaxy, from Out of the Blue Enterprises (Super Why!, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood), is a “make-along, create-along” animated art adventure series that celebrates creative thinking through crafts, story, music, and dance. The series follows the adventures of Arty and his silly side-kick Epiphany, as they travel around the galaxy to solve problems using many different forms of art. Each episode highlights a unique creative medium (painting, music, sculpting, cooking, etc.) to reinforce to kids that art is all around us in many different forms. The interactive stories and live action segments encourage young viewers at home to get excited about their own creative ideas and the process of using creative arts to solve problems! And the second season is kicking off with twice the fun. Season 2 features 11 brand-new, two-part episodes with 24 live action craft segments – and many famous friends! Brooke Shields, Jason Priestly, Samantha Bee, Lisa Loeb, Donovan Patton and Cloris Leachman are just some of celebrities who lend their voices to characters who appear throughout the show.
Let me show you what’s going on in my home. I have a pile of unorganized cords that always get mixed up. It’s frustrating to figure out which cord is mine when I’m digging through the drawer, or just trying to plug in my phone. I always grab the wrong one. I’ve had enough of this mess, so I cleaned it up and I shared how you can clean up your cord mess on the Better Homes and Gardens blog. I used some cute round stickers to label each cord and I provided the labels I designed for you to print for free (find the links on the BHG blog).
Supplies you will need to make these stickers for your home:
It’s going to feel pretty great having all those cords organized! To check out the full tutorial and the links to download these free organizing stickers, head on over to the Better Homes and Gardens blog.

School has started for us and I officially have a first grader. OMG. I cannot believe it. Time is flying by and it really should slow down. Anyway, I’m always trying to come up with new ideas to keep my kiddo interested in her lunches. The other day I created this fun Alphabet Bento Lunch Idea. It definitely encourages her to play with her food, but I’m okay with that. I think it’s okay to sometimes have fun with your food. I found these awesome small alphabet cookie cutters at the store and I knew they would be perfect for cutting shapes out for my daughter’s lunch.
What’s in her lunch? A small cheese sandwich (she always wants a cheese sandwich), cheese alphabet (cut from slices of cheese), fresh raspberries from the garden (they are still growing), broccoli and a tomato, and some yummy blend of Crunchmaster® Original Multi-Grain Crisps and White Cheddar Multi-Grain crackers (she likes variety in her snacks). These Crunchmaster® crackers are made from brown rice and were new to us. Turns out my kiddo loves them!
After school my daughter reported that she really enjoyed this lunch and wants it again! She had fun spelling words on her Crunchmaster crackers and her friends helped her come up with things to spell. She spelled “cool”, “school”, “yummy”, and “fart”. Yup. She spelled fart, she is a 6-year-old. Ha! What I really love about this bento lunch is it’s not completely over the top. I do enjoy looking at those amazing lunches online, but I just don’t have that kind of time. My Alphabet Bento Lunch Idea is easy to create and not too crazy to put together on a busy school night.
What do you do to make lunches more fun for your kids? What combo would you come up with using Crunchmaster crackers? If you share your kid lunches online, I want to see! You can tag me on Instagram (my user name is @thepapermama).

This post was sponsored by Crunchmaster® and I was paid to share this fun lunch idea with you! A full-flavored snack made with brown rice and wholesome ingredients that is oven-baked, kosher, low in sugar and naturally gluten free. These thin and crispy snacks are baked using an authentic Japanese “Usuyaki” process to create an incredible crunch.
It might not seem like it’s time for Halloween, but it is. Ha! It will be here before you know it and you might as well get crafting now. Right? If it feels like it might be just a little bit early for some Halloween crafting, then this DIY is for you. These planters look are the perfect decor to take you from the end of Summer through all of Fall. I love how they turned out and now I want to gold leaf and paint the real pumpkins we pick out from the pumpkin patch. I mean, I do have some gold leaf left…
Do you want to make these planters? Good! They are very simple to create and I know you’ll love them when you’re finished.
Supplies needed to make my Pretty Painted Pumpkin Planters DIY:
Gold leaf kit (make sure you get the adhesive and sealer)
Pink and black paint (I used Martha Stewart paint)
Paint brush for the glue
Paint brush for brushing on the gold leaf
Paint brush for the paint
Plants
Planters
Directions:
Step 1: Draw a circle on the top of the pumpkin where you plan to cut out the hole for the planter. I just measured the top of my planter to get the right size.
Step 2: Use your hot knife to cut out the tops of the pumpkins along your circle line. Be careful, it’s hot!
Step 3: Grab your painters tape and tape off a section of the pumpkin near the bottom. Be sure to press the tape up against the grooves of the pumpkin so the adhesive doesn’t escape past the tape.
Follow the directions on your gold leaf package. I applied a layer of adhesive and followed that with some gold leaf. After I was done applying the gold leaf I added a coat of sealer to seal it in.
When the sealer is completely dry, use a knife to gently cut just below the tape on the gold leaf. Carefully peel off the tape (do this slowly so the gold leaf doesn’t peel off with the tape.
Step 4: Grab your paint and randomly brush on some paint around the pumpkin. Let that dry completely and add your plants! You are done!
