Cat Shoe Decor DIY

DIY Floral Crown

Another DIY that was lost in the archives of my computer. I made this live DIY Floral Crown while I was at the Meet Make Do gathering in February. I’ve never really worked with live flowers, but I have always wanted to make a floral headpiece. I just happened to be with a group of amazing and talented ladies at this event, and they gave me some tips. Ashley, from Sugar and Cloth, shared her past floral headpiece DIY post with me to help me make this. It was a fun experiment, and it was EXTRA fun to make this with my friends around.

These live floral crowns would be perfect for a bridal party, right? All the bridesmaids could make their own over a wedding-morning breakfast.

Supplies:

beautiful flowers (mine came from Flower Muse)
floral wire
floral tape
wire cutters
bobby pins

Directions:

– Pick out a variety of live flowers. I ended up using about 10 floral stems for my crown.

– Cut a section of the floral wire. Measure it’s length on the top of the head, where you would wear a crown. Wrap the measured wire to make a circle of wire.

– Use the floral tape and wire to attach the flowers to the floral crown.

– Pin the crown to your head with bobby pins.

This lovely crown won’t last too long, but should be fine for a few hours. My crown lasted (without water) for over 6 hours.

I Love You More Than Bacon (and I really love bacon) Printable

The husband and I are headed toward our 6th wedding anniversary this weekend (and 12 years together), so what better way to celebrate than with bacon? Bacon is a favorite in this home. It’s just so good. It’s pretty hard to ruin bacon, and it’s so delicious. Mmmmm… I’d say it’s almost as good as fried chicken…. Almost. So this year I’m showing my love with this I Love You More Than Bacon (and I really love bacon) Print. I love giving him weird prints as gifts, and I think it’s time to update his last print (you’re my favorite husband print).

Just a few more weeks of summer left. I am VERY much looking forward to fall, but I will definitely miss warm summer nights by the fire. Recently I fell in LOVE with this S’mores Kit from my friends Cindy, from Skip to my Lou, on the HP Create blog. It’s a free printable for you to use and make your own kit. I love that she presented it on a camping fork.

Back to School DIY’s

It’s almost September, so it’s time for some Back to School DIY’s! My kiddo still has over 3 weeks until preschool starts, but I’ve noticed a ton of kids have already started!
