Photo Challenge: Absolute Favorite.

This weeks challenge: Absolute Favorite.

Since this is a mama blog all the challenges will be based around your children. Now, I’m not too picky on what you call your children. As far as I’m concerned my cats and dog are my kids too!

The challenge: Take or find a photo of your baby (or kid… or puppy… or kitty). Find your ABSOLUTE FAVORITE photo to date. I just want to see the photo you love so much you want to hang it all around your home, your friends home, … all over your blog! Let’s see it!

Here’s my example of Absolute Favorite.

Trendy Crafter: Tape (and a little blog hopping friday)

Trendy Treehouse is having a little fun and putting up crafty challenges each week. This first one is tape. Use any sort of tape you have to create something crafty. I chose Washi Tape. Fun stuff!

I used the tape for the main part of the crown, as well as the flowers.

Here’s a quick tutorial:

First I started with some washi tape and created a design by taping multiple pieces to a sheet of paper. I had purchased three different colors, but I didn’t end up using the pink.

When you’ve got your tape on the paper… it’s time to trace your crowns pattern. Then cut it out! Cut out the shape for your flower petals too. I like to freehand those.

Then I used some Edgers scissors to cut out my leaves.

When I create flowers I always like to have some sort of visual for inspiration. I found these very pretty poppies in the most recent Martha Stewart Living magazine.

I used some eyelets to hold my flower petals together.

I picked out some twigs from around the house, glued some glitter on them.

Gathered up all of my pieces and attach to a headband, glue on some tissue, and: Ta Dah!

Flashback Friday: Another family photo shoot…

So, I believe this may have been around 1985. I was probably just about 2 years old. We went to the mountain to get our photos taken! Ok, no. That’s just a picture of a mountain. Anyway, I realized last week that I hardly ever include my brother in my flashbacks. There he is! 😀

Thursday’s Three: For my baby’s room…

I really want to finish Ruari’s baby room. It’s just been hard to actually get it done! Here are a few goodies that I think would look VERY lovely in her room…

1) The George and Chloe lamp from Urban Outfitters. This thing is SO cute! It really would be perfect for her room. I originally saw it on Lyds Was Here (cute blog).

2) I would also LOVE to have her name spelled out with some moss letters! I think it would be perfect for her Northwest-ish themed room. These moss letters are from Simple Sweet Designs on Etsy.

3) An iPad. HA! Ok, maybe her room doesn’t need one. I just WANT one. But look: there’s a flashcard app! Hee…

3) I really think I’d like to take a look at this book: An Earth Friendly Guide to Decorating Your Baby’s Room. I do love to be as eco-friendly as I can. And, this book looks a little like my style. Hmmm, I’ll have to check it out!
