Do you remember last year when I shared a self portrait photo challenge with all of you? Well, I think it was a fantastic challenge that had a TON of interest and participants! I’m SO excited to do this challenge again. I can’t wait to see all you beautiful bloggers/readers!
When you put yourself out there in the blogging world, it’s almost impossible to avoid any negative comments. You can receive 100 fantastic and encouraging comments, and all it takes is that one damn negative comment to bring you down. I hate that it’s that way, but goodness… it’s how seems to be (P.S. See this comic, from The Oatmeal). I get a negative comment… somewhere in my social media… “Damn, you’re so ugly!” and that seems to be the only comment I hold on to and remember. In a sea of positive and lovely comments, that one stupid commenter sticks out. I don’t like it, but it’s there in the back of my mind.
I love the challenge of a self portrait. Even though I don’t love every photo taken of me, I have a bit more control when taking a self portrait. A quick candid snapshot usually means my chins will come out to say, “hello”. Ha! A self portrait gives me more control.

I really like themed posts. I am glad I ran across a post on a fellow bloggy friend, so I could join in before it was too late. It is horrible how some people are and the things they say. It really makes me wonder what in the world would make another person say such ugly things. The only thing I can think of is that they are so unhappy with themselves and in their own lives that they want to make others hurt. Anyhoo, I am all linked up and glad to be a part of this challenge. It made me realize I had no recent photos of me, so I had to take one lol.
Chelsey I think you are Gorgeous. We are not all perfect and we all have flaws. I think others take there flaws out on others, and It sucks that this comment has stuck with you. Hopefully those with the negativity can stay away and grow up. I am glad you are back with the challenge again and those comments dont stop you from showing YOU!

Honestly, I don't often do self portraits because I'M so critical of me. If someone else bothered to leave a nasty comment, I'd probably need therapy! When I see your self photos, all I think is "how the hell does she bother to look so put together and cute all the time?" I mostly look like some weird nerd who wandered out of Comic-Con 😛

Yay! I actually JUST took some photos of myself because I couldn't find any I liked of JUST me when people were asking. I still haven't edited or shared them – so this is on my to do list ASAP.
