Busy weekend…. and Monday’s My Pick!

{Ruari (22 weeks) and I}

This weekend was a busy one… again! Mike and I have been organizing and cleaning our house like crazy. I swear… it seems impossible to keep our home clean. My sis came over to help by holding the babe while Mike and I ran around the house.

{Nicole and Ruari}

For whatever reason Ruari had decided that naps are for squares and she skipped her first 2 naps Saturday… She was awake for eight hours straight! It was insane. She finally passed out on my sis.

{Finally fell asleep}

We have discovered we have an ant issue…. They are all over our bird feeder and are even in our house! We can’t seem to get rid of them.

{Mmmmmm.. sugar.}

{Bob the ant and his wife Sue the ant}

Soooo, I decided that washing my curtains in the washing machine would be a great idea… nope…

{Shrink}

Turns out they are dry-cleaning only… They shrunk to half their size! So… since we are trying to save money we had to make our own temporary curtains. It was free! 😉 We now have a Seattle Mariners blanket in our window. Ugh. I hate it!

{DIY curtain}

After cleaning and ruining our curtains we headed over to a friends house for the evening.

{Nicole and me.}

It’s so hard to a real picture of Mike…

{Mike hates getting his photo taken}

I have a silly family.

{Mike and Nicole’s prom photo}

Awwww… they love eachother.

{Smoosh}

Monday’s My Pick:

Isn’t this the cutest pillow?! It has little hand embroidered ants and bees on it. So freakin’ cute! I wish I was that good at embroidery. 🙂 Check them out!

    What a great post! We are having an ant problem too! It's driving me nuts…one was even on my arm in BED the other night and I told Jon I was sleeping in the car! Haha! That child of yours is too much cute-ness to handle. Love your top! Love your new curtians (haha-sorry!) and I love your husband with the baby head! Hee hee!

    Gosh, Ruari is the sweetest thing:) Love that pink top you're wearing! Such an adorable shot of Nicole and Ruari napping:) Awww.Yeah, some men and cameras… haha.Darn about those curtains! That stinks! Better to have a curtain than not, I guess… :)And oh, my gosh–we're having a pretty nasty problem with ants, too…I hate ants. One of our men is going to spray the foundation with some good ol' chemicals we use every year, and that usually cuts down the ant population wonderfully. I think we're tried cornmeal before, too…

    i've been following blogs this morning and ended up on yours. i had a little laugh about your curtains (only because i did this all the time)…with the amount of laundry i do…if it doesn't make it thru the wash & dryer i don't want it, totally gave up on shrinkable things. gorgeous cushion cover…i would love to try my hand at making some of those…i'm going to go thru all my girls clothes and use the stained stuff which i won't pass on.

    Love all the photos! How'd you add the sweet white lettering? I am so sorry about your curtains. I can see myself doing the same thing. Maybe hanging the Mariners blanket in your window will help them earn a win? 🙂 Happy Monday!

    You know, I was on your page a few days ago and wondering what your hubby looks like. I realized he wasn't in very many of your posts, and now i know why.My husband is a pain to take pictures of because he pulls out the super fake smile and makes it look like I threatened his life to take that photo.

    We've had a sugar ant problem too! They were finding their way inside the house, and it took us days to discover where they were coming from (the air conditioner room outside). We read somewhere that cornmeal worked, to get rid of them, so we set it out (that and my husband went crazy with the chemicals out in the ac room), and now they're gone 🙂 Something about how they can't digest the cornmeal, so… sadly, it kills them, but… theres one thing you can try?You have a hummingbird feeder!! Does it attract many birds?? I want one, but I don't think there are any hummingbirds around here to feed. I'd be feeding ants too, probably, haha.
