Photo Challenge: Curiosity…

This weeks challenge: Curiosity…

Since this is a mama blog all the challenges will be based around your children. Now, I’m not too picky on what you call your children. As far as I’m concerned my cats and dog are my kids too!

Take or find a photo that shows curiosity. A curious child… a curious situation… maybe a photo you’re curious about what’s going on…

Here’s my example of Curiosity:

{Ruari and her foot at 17 weeks}

Ruari still can’t grab her feet on her own, but she LOVES it when I show her them! Curious little feet… What are those things?

Flashback Friday … What will life be like?

Another week down! It’s a Friday and that means Ruari is another week older. That makes her 20 weeks! Woot… Now, do I call her 5 months old today… or do I have to wait till the 18th to call her 5 months hmmm….?

Enough of that. On to my flashback:

{Just minutes after the proposal…}

This weeks flashback takes place in August 2007. Mike had FINALLY finished school and we had both moved back to Oregon from Washington. We decided to take a lovely vacation to Canon Beach. Little did I know that this was to be the weekend that Mike proposed! Took him long enough (we had been together for 5 years at that point)! ๐Ÿ˜‰

{Haystack Rock and beautiful weather!}

The weather was amazing! I remember that week being VERY rainy at the beach, but we arrived Friday to amazing sun all weekend long. It didn’t start raining till the day we left.

{Enjoying s’mores on the beach with some wine}

Looking back at these photos reminds me of all the thoughts and fantasies the proposal brought up. We were starting a life together and all I could think about was the house we were going to buy, the amazing wedding, and the kids we would have.

If I could go back in time to this 2.5 years ago version of myself, what would I tell myself of the future I would have?

– Maybe that planning a wedding is a pain, and to not worry about it too much. Go to Vegas! ๐Ÿ˜‰
– You’ll find that perfect house… but it will cost a lot of money! No landlords to call when something breaks!
– Don’t eat that one dinner in Greece that made you sick for 2 days.
– Keep your eye on that brown jacket you’re wearing… cause now I can’t find it. ๐Ÿ™
– Get in shape before you get pregnant… Seriously!
– You’re going to have a difficult pregnancy, but don’t worry. It is worth it.
– Would I tell myself I almost die during my first daughters birth? Maybe not. How about: your birth will be VERY rough, but things turn out well and you’ll heal.
– Put your retainer in a safe place before surgery. Where is that thing?
– You will have an amazing baby girl that completely changes your life for the better.
– This daughter will frustrate you and make you want to pull your hair out when she screams for hours or wont stay asleep at night… but then she’ll smile and you’ll forget all about it.
– Basically: There will be some really tough spots in the next 2.5 years… but, you will make it through and you’ll be very happy! This little girl you have and your husband erase all the bad.

Happy Mother’s Day to me and all you amazing mama’s out there!

By the way… Tia: That was SOOOO sweet! Thank you for the mother’s day card. I LOVED it!

Thursday’s three…. USB heaven!

I take so many photos! It’s crazy. I’d say on average I upload 50 photos every couple of days onto my computer. I don’t keep all of them… but I do keep most of them! Now I have so many photos I’m starting to get concerned about storage space on my computer. I have about 6 USB drives each with about 2 GB space on them. Well, they’re already full!

I had to laugh the other day because while cleaning my garage this week I found a 64 MB USB. That would barely hold a day of photos for me!

I am sooooo happy that Mike and I decided to splurge and buy a mass storage drive on Amazon! I’m so excited… That is why it has inspired this weeks Thursday’s Three:

1) The Seagate mass storage drive. This baby can hold 500 GB! I cannot wait for this to come in the mail! I found mine on Amazon. I wonder how long I can make it last….

{Seagate 500 GB found on Amazon}

2) Is 500 GB a little too much for you? How about 4 GB drive in a clothespin? Just clip it on your clothes and it will always be with you! AkiPat has quite a variety in their Etsy shop. Check them out!

3) Or, if you just need a small amount of storage space this cute russian doll USB from Fred Flare is so cute!

Meanwhile at the Paper Mama home….

I am busy trying to fill up more space on my computer with attempted photos of my baby and me. ๐Ÿ™‚

{Me and baby}

It was getting a little hard to take any photos because Ruari kept kicking her legs and jumping. ๐Ÿ™‚

{Bouncy}

{This will have to do. :)}

How many photos are all of you taking each day?
(by the way… I took 40 photos to get these 3)

Spending a day at Crafty Wonderland!

Last Sunday my Sister, Ruari, and I headed over to Crafty Wonderland. Crafty Wonderland is Portland’s indie/craft market! I sold some of my crowns at this show back when I was first pregnant. There are some amazing artists there!

{Mr. Chelsey and Ms. Ruari}

Ruari and I played with the moustaches at Turtle Monkey Bug. So fun!

{Mr. Ruari and Mrs. Chelsey}

The show was not as exciting for Ruari as it was for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

{Ruari taking a little power nap in the BOB}

There were MANY sellers that I just loved! It would take me hours to list all of them… So, I’ll just list a couple of my faves:

Turtle Monkey Bug: Cute Dolls, Moustaches, and more!

{Turtle Monkey Bug}

Bella Sisters: Awesome repurposed jackets! I’ve been wanting one of these for a couple years now!

{Bella Sisters}

Slide Sideways: Awesome prints!

{Slide Sideways}

Rachel Austin: Painting and other lovelies!

{Rachel Austin}

And, yes… I met Mark Montano! I was a total nerd and asked if I could get a photo with him. He was so nice to me and said sure… even though I’m sure he thought I was crazy! ๐Ÿ˜‰

{Yeah, that’s right! I met him! Mr. Mark Montano!}

If you don’t know who he is… where have you been? Kidding. He is Mark Montano: TV Host, Author, Designer, and Artist. You may have seen him on While you were out or 10 years Younger on TLC. He also has two AWESOME books out. The Big Ass Book of Crafts and his newest book, The Big Ass Book of Home Decor. I want them!
