Yay! It’s my favorite time of year. We are headed toward Christmas and I usually have a hard time waiting to put up my decorations. I wandered to Michaels and they have quite a few different Christmas collections right now and I love them all. My favorite of all is the Boho style. A lot of my Christmas decorations are along this same color scheme so it works out perfectly. Look at those vintage style ornaments! I love them. I think I’ll eventually hang them on the tree when we get one, but for now they look pretty cute in a bowl on the mantel.

To add a bit more fun to the whole set up I used some colorful paper to add a beard and hat to one of my paintings, a beard to our little bust and a “hap-hap happiest Christmas” banner. This quote is from one of my favorite Christmas movies, ‘Christmas Vacation’. If you have a Silhouette machine I provided a file for you to use this at home to cut out this quote!

To download the banner just head on over here and here to download the Silhouette cutting file to use with your machine. I used museum putty to adhere the happiest banner to the front of my fireplace (along with the beards and so on). This putty will not hurt the paint on your walls or fireplace and hold up your decor.

Santa’s MAKEshop is now open at Michaels! From holiday décor to trimmings for your tree, you can find everything you need to make your holiday magical!

LOVE that you added a Santa hat and beard to your regular portraits – such a cute way to update your traditional decor for the holidays! The banner rocks too of course.
