Cat Head Pillowcase DIY

Do you ever get a great idea, then completely forget about it until you stumble upon some notes from over a year ago? Yeah, me too. Ha! I had this idea to make a cat head shape and put it on a pillow, and just plain forgot. I already had the pillowcase, so I just needed the kitty design. I drew one up and I love how the Cat Head Pillowcase DIY turned out (so does my daughter). She basically screeched with excitement when I showed it to her.

Want to make one for yourself? I made printables for you to make your own. I made the cat outline in blue, pink, and black. You just need to add a pillowcase and some iron-on paper. My total cost for this project: $3. I already had the iron-on paper and I found this thrifted pillowcase for $3. Yay!

Supplies:

Directions:

– Print out all four printables onto the iron-on paper. Tip: I have personally used the HP brand multiple times and highly recommend it. I have a few iron-on items that have lasted through multiple washes.

– Use your scissors to cut out the kitty shape. Be sure to leave about a 1/4 inch border around the little line shape. This next part is a bit of a puzzle. Put the four shapes together to make sure all the lines meet up. Trim if needed.

– Time to iron! First, iron out all the wrinkles from your pillowcase. When the pillowcase is cool, iron on one cat piece at a time. Place all four pieces down to make sure it’s centered, then remove three and iron. Repeat until all four shapes have been ironed, trimming the shape if you need lines to match up. Tip: be sure to keep the iron moving while pressing down the kitty shape, you don’t want to burn it!

You’re done! Now you have the cutest little cat pillow. I gave this one to my kiddo, but I really feel like I need one for myself. Hee.

P.S. Just a reminder that you are very welcome to use these printable for personal use. The printables cannot be adjusted or used for commercial use.
