Well, let’s try this again….. 52 Weeks of Drawings

Last year, yes a year ago, I gave myself a challenge. I challenged myself to draw something at least once a week. I LOVE to draw because it’s relaxing for me… just me and my sketchbook. The thing is, I didn’t make it. I didn’t draw each week. I drew a LOT in the 2013 year, but it was never for my challenge and I sort of just dropped it. I’d really really love to stick with it this year (the full list is below, and I plan to link to each post as I go along).

I drew this little prompt drawing (above) in January 2013 to inspire drawing ideas. I’m going to go with it again.

8. Your name: Draw out your name. Stay simple or go elegant! Whatever.

my husband & I are attempting your great idea! I made a booklet, is it okay if I use your drawing (with your website name) for the cover page?

Such a cool idea. I took a drawing class a couple years ago and it was SO much fun… I really looked forward to it, my little 2-hour window of creative time on a Saturday. ALAS, then I did nothing with it and I'm pretty sure my india ink and pens are in a box somewhere… crap. Also, if you haven't already, you should check out Danny Gregory's book, Creative License – it's all about keeping visual journals / drawing journals… and it is wonderfully illustrated from cover to cover, amazing inspiration. Anyway, thanks for YOUR inspiration!

That's an awesome idea! I'm so bad with keeping up with things like that (drawing, blogging, knitting, cleaning, cooking…. everything). I do like to doodle in my PAPER app on my iPad but it's usually ideas for knitting and embroidery. Maybe this will inspire me to stick with something!!

Oh my gosh! I love this! I'm definitely going to participate. I keep telling myself to pick up my sketchbook again.

FAB idea, Paper Mama! If I were tech savvy, I'd know how to upload a drawing of myself for you! (I'd totally draw myself with a beard, too!)

It's so funny…there are things we love and enjoy in our lives, and yet it's so easy for us to let the go as the year progresses. Outside of my work (I'm a graphic facilitator), I draw every week…but that's because I do a blog post about how to draw a Good Enough version of something, and if I miss a week I feel sad and a wee bit disappointed.

Love the idea of a year's worth of drawing prompts at your fingertips! So glad I found this post.

I can't wait to see what you draw forth,
    Jeannel King

I really wanted to participate in this last year but never drew the first thing all year. {sad face}. I am not even going to commit to another failure, but I will enjoy seeing your drawings when you post them.
