Day 33: So… these are so good. Really good. I mean, Oreo’s are good just the way they are… but add some chocolate: OMG. It makes these mini Oreo’s addictive! Plus, since they’re bite-size, you don’t really know how many you’re eating until they’re all gone. Ha!
They are also the perfect gift. Put them in a jar and add a label. I used this Tea Time Label, from Pear Tree Greetings. Under “Property of:” I wrote ‘Santa’, crossed that out, and wrote ‘Ruari’. She is a chocolate thief… sooooo….
Ingredients:
– A bag of Mini Oreos
– Optional: Sea Salt
Directions:
– Place a piece of parchment paper or foil down on a baking sheet.
– Follow the melting Directions on the back of your Wilton Chocolate Melts bag. I melted mine in the microwave. As for how much, that’s up to you. I melted 1/3 of the bag of Wilton Chocolate Melts to cover half a bag of Mini Oreos.
– When your chocolate is melted toss an Oreo or two in, cover it in chocolate, pull it out with a pair of tongs and place on the baking sheet to cool. Don’t leave the Oreo’s in the warm chocolate for too long, because they will start to disintegrate.
– Optional: While the chocolate on the Oreo’s are still warm, sprinkle on a bit of sea salt. I sprinkled the sea salt on every 10 Oreos or so.
– Put them in a jar, add a cute label… enjoy!

will the chocolate starts to melt once not in the fridge? any cool and effective way to prevent them from melting? as i would like to give this to my friends. and the journey from my place to school is far and afraid that once give them it will all be melted. that sight is totally not cool
Hmmm. Well, maybe bring it in a cooler? I don't really think it will melt, unless it's really warm, or you're traveling far.
How adorable! I will definitely have to try and make these with my kiddos!
They are delicious!
Those oreos are SOOO cute! And I love the addition of sea salt. I've discovered it just makes chocolate that. much. better. 🙂 Fun giveaway too!
So true.
