Wordless{ish} Wednesday: Tattoo for you? No, for me.

When I was in Cali last week, I got to spend an extra day with some friends. Thursday day was spent with Ms. Jess. When you hang out with Jess, you go shopping. And, when you go shopping… and not find anything you want to buy… you get ideas. When you get ideas and say them out loud near Jess, she agrees with you. When your ideas are agreed upon… you spontaneously get a tattoo. When you’re a nerdy blogger and you just get a tattoo with your blogging friend, you go stand in the middle of the boulevard, in Hermosa Beach, and take blogging photos. Hee.

We are amazing and got awesome tattoos of our kiddo’s names on our arms. I absolutely love it. I’m normally the kinda girl that needs to think/plan out a future tattoo foooooeeeeevvvvvveeeer. Just to make sure it’s what I truly want. In fact, I have plans to add more to my arm and shoulder soon. BUT, I also have teeny tattoo ideas in my head that I save for these spontaneous and crazy moments.

P.S. Just in case you are like, “Laureli, I thought her kid’s name was Ruari?” Well, her real name is Laureli… but, we call her Ruari (ahem… Gilmore Girl’s … ahem). And, funny: I told Ruari I put her name, “Laureli” on my arm… she keeps saying, “No, it says Ruari.” Ha!

You go girl! I love this tattoo! Sometimes it just feels good (no GREAT) to be spontaneous! I'm still trying to decide if I want to get one myself (something that has to do with my baby, Alivia). If I keep thinkin' about it, I'll never do it. I should be more like you!

I love the simplicity of this tattoo! It's gorgeous!! I'm the same way, I plan out my tattoos for at least a year before I can commit to it. It looks beautiful!!

I sort of obsess/think about it. And, I'm happy I do. My first tat was at 18. Hate it. A silly tribal butterfly on my lower hip. Why? WHY? Ha. Planned it right then and there. But, at least it's hidden.

Hello, I really love the font, so I searched for it and I think it's this one called http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/sudtipos/miss-le-gat…. But I think the tattoo artist recreate the lines so the 'r', 'e' and 'l' looked like the were written in one line…

  • orangemomonani on said:

  • Johanna on said:

I love your tattoos, so cute! And even if iwas spontaneous – I think, you cannot go wrong with your childs' name on your wrist! Absolutely adorable! I'm planning on getting a tattoo for a while now and the wrist is my favorite place for my very first tattoo, but everybody keeps saying that it's not the right place because it hurts so much! Was it really that painful?

    • The Paper Mama on said:

Well, you have a needle puncturing your skin over an over… so, I say anywhere hurts. Hee. BUT, really… it's not that bad. My other wrist/arm has tattoos all over it… and, the most tender spot was on the tendons. And, on bone. That hurts more. But, if it's a small tattoo… it will be over quick. 🙂 You can do it!
