I have multiple families. I have the good ‘ol blood relations, the long time friends, and then I have my online family. Some people may think my internet friends aren’t real (it does sorta sound crazy… internet friends), but they are (I swear, they really are). I’ve connected with people that I would never have known if it wasn’t for blogging. Some amazing people that I love and consider part of my friend family.
I started The Paper Mama blog when the kiddo was a baby to hopefully connect with other mama’s, like myself. The community I discovered was amazing. I had my family and friends outside of the internet, but this online community was filling this need I had to communicate with people during the day that didn’t poop/barf on me. Being a new mama can be so lonely when you’re at home alone with no one to talk with. These bloggers came along and were going through all the same mom-things as I was. We connected. These friendships blossomed and now I have my online family.
I’ve now been friends with some of these online buddies for multiple years. A few of us have met in real life and got to chat over yummy food and a glass of wine, others I’ve only been able to chat through Skype (wine was still involved). I text/email/facebook/instagram/tweet these friends. Even though most of us are thousands of miles away from each other, the internet keeps us close.
So, all this talk of my internet family got me thinking. What would The Paper Mama family crest look like? Well, I used the Gallo Family Vineyards Crest Creator to create it. Yes. The fried chicken/bacon are necessary for this family. Here you are:

My definition of family is wrapped up in one word! Lauren. She is my one and only and we live in so cal! But my extended family, which includes my 92 year old mother live in Portland and we are driving there at Thanksgiving!!!!! My hometown!

I think family is anyone that you are there for and they are there for you. Someone who wants nothing but the best for you, and would do anything they could to help you. I think it is someone who loves you unconditionally through good times and bad. Someone who gives and does not expect something in return, whether its them giving their time, love, money, understanding, patience, etc.

My definition of family are the people who support you no matter what, who you can call anytime, day or night, who laugh with you, and sometimes at you(hey I do some crazy things!) and most of all FAMILY IS LOVE!
Family: The people who are bonded to you through a shared past. This past might be bloodlines or a funny story from 10 years back. It could be a moment between new friends that starts off a relationship for the future. Family will always be there for you even when you least expect it!

My definition of family is broad and wide. I like to include more, rather than be exclusive, so I have my church family, my regular family, and also people who are disenfranchised, I like to adopt and make them part of family for holidays, and remember them with little presents.

My definition of family is any person that you can truly depend on – through good times, terrible times, times when you're bored and just want to someone to watch Law & Order and eat Cheez Its with. You don't need to talk to this person every day, but you know without a doubt that they will be there when you need them. They will answer the phone when you call. They will text you back.
